Enjoy Lively West End Festival

The West End Festival, the biggest festival of Glasgow, began in the year 1996 and since then it has flourished into a grand fiesta. In the year 2010, thousands of families and visitors from Glasgow and beyond attended this colourful celebration. So, it is expected that most of the Glasgow hotels would be booked in advance in 2011. The West End Festival, this year, begins from June 3 and continues through June 26. The entry to this grand celebration is free and it lets you have a good time exploring various events which vary from classical and choral music to folk, jazz and rock. You can also enjoy live theatrical and dance performances and guided walks. The main highlight of this 16-day festival is the Opening Parade which receives over 800 participants and features 10 samba bands. The Opening Parade will take place on Sunday, June 5, at Kelvingrove Park. The party begins at 12:30pm and finishes at 7:00pm. From live entertainment to excellent food and drink, the festival is for people of all ages and interest.
